Year 5 and 6 Camp

Filed under: Uncategorized on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011 by | No Comments

On Monday morning years 5 and 6 went on camp for two nights at Galston Gorge. It was a Crusader camp so we learned a lot about God and Jesus. Year 6 participated in activities like archery, High ropes, abseiling and raft building. Year 5 did activities like rock climbing, damper cooking, BMX and Bush Survival.

On the first night Year 6 slept in tents, It was very squashy but lots of fun. We all sang songs around the campfire and we all cooked our own delicious dinner. Year 5 slept in cosy, warm cabins.

On the second night Both Years 5 and 6 slept in cabins. We were all so tired so we had a great sleep.

This morning we all woke up, had a delicious breakfast and we played ‘Mini Olympics’. We all had to come up with team names and cheers and we rotated around the oval doing activities like noodle javilin, dress up relays, carrying water from one bucket to the other and throwing a ball in to the right circle.

Year 5 and 6 had a magnificent camp and we can’t wait until next year.

Gold Game

Today the whole of year 5 were surprised to hear that there was gold found in Roseville! (pretend)
The whole of year 5 played The Gold Game.
We had to get into groups of 4 and make a team flag and a name. In my group there is Kat, Victoria and Jena.
We all received 8 pounds and we had to buy all of the equipment like wheelbarrow,
pick, shovel and lots more. We each measured a square metre in the playground and that was made OUR land.
We only just started today and this game will probably continue through out this term.
I was so much fun and I can’t wait until next week!

Science in Term 3 has been fun so far.

We have been doing micro – organisms.  First we did yeast but now we are doing all different types of moulds.

We have put bread in different places we’d like to investigate, like inside and outside or underground and above ground.

Unfortunately my group’s outside bread had been taken.

On some of the groups bread mould has started to grow! (Yuck!)

Hopefully our bread won’t get taken again and that everyone will continue on having fun!
